Market Day – Vic Mart

Market day has always been Saturday for me, when i’ll go to Victoria Market for a spot of shopping. This morning the weather was exceptionally nice and sunny – bout 18 degrees, great day to go for a walk!

What did i buy? Hmmm… normal stuff really. Lettuce, a couple of carrots, a bunch of bananas and 4 packham pears. Pears… I just love them… nothing is better than pears for snacking on after a meal and when you’re still feeling hungry. Believe me, I get hungry very very very often. It’s usually 2 hours after a meal and I’ll be looking for food again. *scary huh?*

Thank goodness for my broadband! I got to talk to a bunch of friends from malaysia (and a longtime friend now working in Bangkok) and catch up without ever paying a single cent for it. (actually i’ve already paid Optus a ransom for the broadband so its part of the bill there…AUD70 per month). Never one for boiling porridge, I consider these chats my due. Use the broadband to its fullest! *yeah* I use Google Talk for this and its really great!

A footnote here from an article I saw on www.thestar.com.my. Amazing how enterprising people can be!

Johor Bahru Prisons Department human resources director Abdul Wahab Kassim said allowing the public to enter the prison would hopefully deter people from committing crime.

He said overnight packages were available for those interested in “the full experience.”

For enquiries, call 07-226 4536.

*speechless*

would you want to go for this?

Hmmm… I wonder if the authorities would encourage people to ‘visit’ soho areas and red light districts to deter the public from soliciting the flesh trade? Go figure!

As for the prison visit, come on Suki, don’t deny the fact that we’ve toured the Pudu jail before! Still remember the Kenny-G music they blared over the mono speakers? What a mood killer.
