goodbye beautiful day
The weekend has been amazing with clubbing at Amber Lounge on Friday, then calamari dinner (cooked by Gary *yeah*) on Saturday followed by a light and sound show on the Yarra River. Sunday is here and I’m finally getting into the mood for work!
FRIDAY
The hype of dance clubs are generally overated but Amber’s crowd and atmosphere was superb! We reached around 11pm and a line was already forming with clubbers impatient to get in. I loved the idea of the club being in the basement and also the fact that there were lots of people but it wasn’t quite so jammed that you can’t dance comfortably. The music was sadly lacking and there were repetitions of certain songs but that didn’t stop the crowd from responding enthusiastically. Everybody was there ready to have a blast!
SATURDAY
After a very filling dinner (thanks to Gary!), we walked to the bank of the Yarra to view the 72 fishes representing the 72 countries participating in the Melbourne2006 Commonwealth Games. Suddenly the patriotic spirit hit us and we went searching for the Golden Arowana – the fish that represents Malaysia. So much for it being Golden… it was lit with blue light!
At 11pm, we caught the very last light and sound show for the Commonwealth Games. The installation will cease to exist on Sunday March 26 when the games end, lucky us! After the show, it took us almost an hour to walk to Lygon’s Notturno for a drink! It was so crowded that you can only inch forward slowly to get out of the Federation Square/Flinders St. vicinity.
All in all, it’s been a beautiful weekend but now, it’s time to get work done! So that’s all for now. Cheers!

oh one last thing… I did see Malaysian athletes around Melbourne! A group of them were eating Nando’s @ Melbourne Central on Swanston St!
