the weekend
Sunday
Woke up bright and early, raring to get out of the apartment. I desperately needed fresh air. After sleeping through the whole of Saturday (literally), I had to at least get my lazy bum off the bed and walk off all that excess junk consumed during the past 2 days. The chicken seller at Vic Mart must love me so! I bought over AUD20 worth of meat.
Dropped off meat n veg purchases at apartment, consumed a borek from VM, then practically ran out of the place again. I was that desperate, I can’t stand staying in a minute longer than necessary!
Remembered Buddha’s Birthday celebration was on at Fed Square so I made my way there. Truth be told, it was slightly disappointing. I was expecting to be able to relax and listen to some prayers… and got bombarded by a scottish bagpipe orchestra instead. Not that they were bad, mind u… but it wasn’t what I would consider relaxing. The whole set-up was also a tad bit too commercialised i think. However, the food section was fantastic. Roti canai anyone? Made right on the spot too… none of that frozen shit!
It rained on my way back. Detoured to safeway and bought the whole supermarket… well, almost. Darn, I gotta stop buying food… what happened to my iron discipline not to gain weight? omg.
Saturday
Was a blank. Woke up to apple calling me on the phone and a pounding headache. Took 2 nurofens and tried to fall back into deep sleep. No such luck. Boyfriend called, sounding displeased. So I grounded myself for the rest of the day. Wish I could have gone for Laura’s performance at Brunswick… I had been looking forward to it for so long! But I’m sure if I did go, my bf would not just sound displeased… he would have a volcanic eruption. So okay, spent the rest of the day moping around the house, sleeping in snatches, then watching tv at nite. Slept early.
I’m getting too old for this shit.
Friday
Was joey’s birthday. We didn’t plan on celebrating coz she was going to be working at night. Then, surprise surprise, she read the schedule wrongly… went to work, saw she wasn’t needed, then came back. So yes, we celebrated – with Tequila shots, an endless supply of beer, chips, nuts, starburst… it was a true junk food + alcohol party… omfg.
GIMME A TEN!
