Urban Dream Capsule

 The weather was so hot yesterday that I had to get out of the apartment. Went with my friends to see these 4 guys who are living their lives in the shop windows of Myer’s at Bourke St. Mall. They will be there 24/7 for 15 days in conjunction with the commonwealth games. The Urban Dream Capsule started right there 10 years ago in 1996 as part of a performance art installation and they’ve been performing all over the world since then!

  

There are 4 windows – a kitchen, a "living room", a bedroom and a bathroom. The most intriguing thing is that the bathroom has no toilet! However, if u’re lucky or ur patient enough, u can catch them taking a shower   I did try to ask what time they would have their shower and one of them replied "3am"… oh well i’ll rather be snug in bed at that time! 

 

There are a lot of commonwealth games athletes around the cbd and i believe we saw some from Ghana in their traditional costumes walking around Melbourne. I wonder if I’ll be able to spot Malaysian athletes in the city? I do hope so.
