Went in to Singapore on Labour Day – 1st of May. Took Aeroline, which stopped me at VivoCity – that spanking new sprawling mall complex in Singapore. Can’t say I had enough time to shop! *sob* It was a decidedly bad day to go shopping in Singapore. Not that I mind crowds, but the queues to buy food, to try on clothes, to just about get anywhere, was impossible.

Little boy getting soaked at Vivo City
This lil’ boy was getting absolutely soaked, and enjoying it as well. No parents in sight though.

Â

Nice directory for Vivo City - for playing hide and seek!
Lil’ girl playing hide and seek with mommy at the Vivo City directory. Nice creative directories, I must say.

Â

novel way to hang tvs
Loved how they "stripped" the metal coverings off the column to stick their tvs on.

Â

chocolate designer packaging
Overpriced chocolate brand - not even handmade! – depending on design to sell its wares.

Â

rugged painted typo - just beautiful
Rugged with style. I wanna slap paint on walls and still have it looking so designed.

Central is the new mall at Clark Quay - where YM, me and bf had dinner. We had Black Pig Shabu-shabu. PORK PORK PORK. *yummy*. Oh since we’re talking about pork, the Chicken and Bacon Swiss Cheese Burger thingy at Carl’s Jr. is ‘pork’ilicious as well :D   BACON oh BACON :) ~

pok. pok. pok
The japanese restaurant we ate in, specialising in BLACK PIG (pork, pork, pork, pork). *grinz*

The Singapore "Hooter’s" restaurant was there. It was only sparsely patronised, maybe due to the rather sad-looking waitresses in padded bras with no butt to speak of whatsoever. The clientele looked decidedly bored as well. Where are those famous "Hooter girls"? *double sigh*

I was searching for Michael Buble’s lyrics for his version of "Fever" and lo and behold – I came across Muppet Treasure Island’s [CABIN FEVER]. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this amazingly FUNNY movie starring Kermit the Frog and also Miss Piggy of Sesame Street fame, go grab yer hands on a copy and watch it! ‘Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

I got cabin fever,
It’s burning in my brain
I got cabin fever,
It’s driving me insane

We’ve got cabin fever we’re flipping our bandanas
Been stuck at sea so long that we have simply gone bananas

We’ve got cabin fever, we’ve lost what sense we had
We’ve got cabin fever and we’re all going mad!

Grab yer partners by the ears,
Lash ‘im to the wheel.
Doe-cee doe step on his toe,
Listen to ‘im squeal!
Allemande left, Allemande right,
It’s time to sail or sink.
Swing yer partner over the side
And drop ‘im in the drink!

We’ve got cabin fever,
No ifs, ands or buts,
We’re disoriented, and demented,
And a little nuts!

Ach du leiber,
Volkswagen car (yodel ae ee hee)
Sour braut, wiener schnitzel (yodel eh eh hoo)
Und is wunderbar.

We were sailing, sailing,
The wind was on our side,
… but then it died.

I’ve got cabin fever,
I think I lost my grip
I’d like to get my hands on,
Whoever wrote this script!

Si!

I was floating ‘neath tropic moon,
And dreaming of a blue lagoon,
Now I’m as crazy as a loon. Hoo hoo hoo!!

Cabin fever has ravaged all aboard,
This once fine vessel has become a floating psycho ward.
We were sailing, sailing,
Heading who knows where!
And now though we’re all here,
We’re not all there!

Cabin fever, aah.
