A weekend of ups and downs – THE UPS
I hardly ever go shopping nowadays for I don’t have the energy to dress up in the “latest fashion”… ahhhhh now who am i trying to fool? lets just cut the BS and go straight to the issue. The major discouraging factor is MONEY and the lack of it!!!!
Truth be told, I am extraordinarily fussy about clothing and my own personal style. The things I would love to buy never seem to fit inside my budget so I’ve given it up as a lost cause and dress frequently in collar-shirt and jeans. Plus taking public transport to and from work (imagine being herded around like cattle), isn’t a very conducive environment for the high heels that i love…

That’s rush hour traffic in Singapore for you.
So, right. We went to Bkt Bintang and shopped/walked from noon till 9pm at night. As i mentioned before, I had wanted to chew someone’s head off so I’ve gotta find some distractions! Settled the rumbling tummy first, of course. We had lunch at U-Village @ Sg Wang, where i treated my starving kl tastebuds to good food. oh, heaven. Only after having lived elsewhere do I stop taking for granted the wonderful tasting dishes I can find in KL.
Settled the most important business of the day – my skincare product – a moisturiser from Thalgo. I’ve been using this brand forever, and I don’t think I’ll ever change. Then after that, i brought a pair of Freshkon Alluring Eyes contact lenses to try – RM50 for a pair in “winsome brown”.

Wore them right then and there. Hubby said my eyes really looked much bigger. *Happy*.

Here’s a close-up of how it looks. Small pigments darken the edge of the iris, thus giving it the illusion of a larger iris.

Bought a pair of sunglasses too from Marc Jacobs, for the trip down south to perth next month. *Double happiness*
Hubby was fascinated by the array of coloured contact lenses by freshkon, and he bought a pair in “gray”. I have tried the ones in brown and blue, but not gray. But i have to admit that those gray lenses do look pretty good… heh. He said he’ll wear them in perth. LOL. Can’t wait to see how he will look like with gray eyes.
Next stop was Borders @ Times Square. I chose a book by Suzanne Elizabeth Phillips – Natural Born Charmer. It’s the first time I read a book by this author. Hubby got his fav fantasy novel… and we retired to Starbucks for a cuppa and some cake. The book had me in stitches! The first few paragraphs had me hooked! But I’m saving it for next weekend, when I’ll be bored and stuck in JB. Then I’ll take my time to enjoy it.
The sun hung low in the sky when we made our way to Pavillion. I initially wanted to have Chilli’s but the nearest one was in KLCC and since we didn’t want to go there, we settled for TGIF instead. Not a bad choice, the fajitas are still wonderfully satisfying.
Had to have a walk after all that food! The SALE sign @ Tangs beckoned. I got 2 new pieces of lingerie… heh. Hubby’s mouth nearly dropped open when he saw how much they cost. HA. I need therapy, so there! *triple, quadruple happiness*
So it was with a happy heart and tired feet that I made my way back home. And yeah, the next day I took all the bedsheets away and sanitized the bedroom. After all, what’s not mine must be left untouched.
