adidas for a bit of city chic
I have unusually large feet for an Asian woman.
My UK shoe size is 7 1/2 (MY/SG shoe size being 9 or 10). I have difficulty buying shoes in Singapore unless they are imported, and even then not all the designs have my size in stock. Not only that, I’m really picky about fashion and I don’t just buy any shoe to wear. I want them to look good! It was such bliss for me when I was staying in Melbourne where I was of average size, which was just wonderful. But I’m not, and Singaporeans, it seems, have really small feet.
When I first laid eyes on them, I just wanted to have them.

Then the next thing that crossed my mind was that they had pink adidas stripes… and I hesitated.
PINK! I mean… PIINNNKKKKK!!!!
I really didn’t “do” pink.
However it wasn’t long before I went and tried them on. They were so comfortable, I was hooked and reeled in. Too bad, they don’t have my size. Many hours and 6 stores later, when I had almost given up all hope, I found a pair of them in my size. Much thanks to a very patient hubby who loved the pair of shoes as much as I did, I am now the proud owner of a pair of black + pink adidas city mary janes. I would never have found it if he hadn’t persisted.

Now, I’m not the type of “sporty” styled girl. As far as I’m concerned, the sporty look isn’t my cup of tea. However these shoes are in the “Mary Jane” fashion category… nothing like what trainers look like. That’s the reason I bought them. Compared to the very “auntie”-like shoes from Clarks or HP, these are absolutely stylish yet provide a decent amount of comfort for long walks in the city. Ideal for me!
