Agedashi Tofu Recipe

Agedashi tofu is surprisingly easy to make! Just be gentle whilst handling the tofu for they are liable to break apart easily!
Ingredients
- 1 block Japanese silken tofu – cut into 6 cubes
- Corn starch
- Bonito flakes (katsuobushi)
Tentsuyu Broth
- 1 cup dashi
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp sake
Method
- Gently blot out excess water from tofu cubes using paper towels then coat with corn starch.
- Combine ingredients for tentsuyu broth in pan and bring to a simmer.
- Heat oil in wok and deep fry tofu cubes until crispy and lightly brown in colour.
- Drain excess oil from tofu cubes on paper towels.
- Combine dish by placing tofu in small shallow bowls and pouring the hot tentsuyu sauce over tofu pieces.
- Garnish with bonito flakes and serve immediately.
