Resort World Sentosa, as seen from Vivocity’s rooftop@ Lvl 3.

My parents came to visit me in JB for the weekend and on Saturday decided to drive in to Resorts World Sentosa. We parked in Vivocity’s carpark and then took the Sentosa Express at Lobby L, Level 3 of Vivocity directly to RWS, alighting at Waterfront Station.

Waiting for the Sentosa Express to take us into Sentosa in air-conditioned comfort for SGD3 per pax.

On stepping out of the station, I could still see construction going on everywhere. At this rate, I think it’ll be more than half a year before this development is complete and can begin to offer even a small portion of the excitement Genting generates in visitors.

We got waylaid on the way to the Casino. I just couldn’t resist, I had to go in! Check out these teddy bears @ Hershey’s Chocolate World!

Since it was expensive to bring home, I’ll settle for taking a picture with one!

And that’s dad striking a pose with 2 of the world’s largest Hershey’s chocolate bars.

They even sell chocolate syrup, in 3.4kg containers!! Mom picked one up and asked me, “Wanna buy?” *shocked* and no we didn’t get that LOL but we did buy some dark chocs with almonds and some Reese candy bars *yummmyyy*

Went to check out Universal Studios but the tickets were already sold out (it was noon when we got there), so we stood around and saw these fellas.

Cosplayers on stilts – reminds me of Alice in Wonderland’s King and Queen of Hearts

Dad was excited to see the new casino and he made no secret of it. So off we went. As you can see, the architectural design of the place seem to be very dated. I wish they did not go for such a look >.<

No pictures allowed inside but the interior is less gaudy... pretty posh when compared to Genting. The gaming tables are all equipped with high-tech devices too. I felt it was a smaller casino compared to Genting. Difficult to judge because they separate the place into many sections - smoking & non-smoking halls, and the club floor upstairs where u get better service. They have milo, something which the common drinks areas downstairs do not serve >.< Another thing of note is that there are tables reserved for Singaporeans and PRs only (are these seeds of elitism?)

In prominent display was a towering glass art sculpture by Dale Chihuly that reminded me of millions of reddish orange tentacles writhing in agony (a bit TOO graphic a description, right? LOL) I wonder how they will manage to keep it clean >.<

Knowing the typically inedible food Genting serves *shudders*, we elected to have dinner in JB instead of in the casino.

On our way out, I passed by this display at BreadTalk. *mmmm nice*

Last thing we did before going home – we took the Sentosa Express to Beach Station to check out the view before making our way back to JB for a sumptuous dinner.
