Food + Shopping

Two of my happiest pursuits, both realized during a weekend back in KL. This time, I insisted on going to The Curve instead of my usual haunt (Sg. Wang) because of Ikea. I wanted to get some items for the kitchen and hubby needed a shelf for the bedroom. As usual, Ikea delights the senses and we spent a couple of hours inside checking out all the goodies.

After all that shopping, we went to look for food at The Curve. I was surprised by the over-the-top deco of this place… but not surprised enough to go in though. I hate creeping vines >.<

And this place cracked me up. Very creative indeed…

After wandering around for a while, we went into Italiannies. I haven’t eaten here in AGES… it could even have been years! *shock* The last time I remembered going to one was with my then “boyfriend” (now hubby) at Midvalley The Gardens. One of the main reasons why I tend not to eat Italian is coz pasta is so darn easy and cheap to make that I can’t really justify paying restaurant prices for it. As for pizzas, I’m spoilt by those served in Melbourne’s Lygon St… so much so that nothing else so far has measured up. *sigh* I used to go to Italiannies for their chicken cacciatore but since I can whip up a mean one, it’s no longer a reason to visit. Yet on that day, I though what the heck, let’s just give it a go… and we went :D

They were running a promotion – 2 course meal for RM27.90++. Fare enough, so we ordered an appetizer (minestrone soup) plus a main course (shrimp linguine). Hubby wanted a pizza so we went for their classic pizza. Their free herb bread is always something to look forward to. We eat it dipped in a mixture of herb-infused olive oil with a dash of vinegar. *so good* I was hungry so I polished off the bread and soup before I remembered to take a picture! I liked their minestrone- rich, thick with lots of herbs and garlic plus melted cheese…

I can’t say much about this except it’s adequate. >.< Hubby was satisfied so that's good news.

Their Shrimp Linguine is addictive. Crunchy prawns in yummy marinara sauce. Plus the portion is large enough for two.

Hubby promised to buy me a charm bracelet from Thomas Sabo Charm Club so off we went!

I love the concept of a charm bracelet. For every memorable event in your life, you buy a charm to remember it by.

I started off with a simple shopping bag charm made from a natural stone – onyx. Will be adding to this collection as our married life together progresses. *happy*

At Pavillion, we walked around looking for a quiet place to have a drink and ventured into Bosphorus. It is a middle eastern / turkish restaurant. We tried their Turkish coffee. It comes served with a tall glass of cold water (supposed to freshen the mouth to better taste the coffee).

It was serve in such a beautiful cup. The coffee itself was aromatic and tasted very good. Strong too… I was ready to race around and leap up to the ceiling :) As the coffee grounds are poured into the cup too, the fine grounds are left at the bottom of the cup after drinking.

Good happy weekend. :D
