This was tucked away in a corner of Plaza Singapura’s basement. We were celebrating KS’s birthday here on a weekday during lunch hour and was surprised by the crowds. Due to JY’s good planning, we arrived slightly earlier than the typical lunch hour crowd and was promptly seated before the queues started forming.

The menu was simple and straightforward, and the lunch promotion was tempting – order any main course and get a soup and drink with an upgrade of $1.90.

Looking at the menu, I was attracted to the pork chop… with sausages! *yay* The price was about $8 if I remembered correctly. So that’s what I ordered. I also upgraded to get a soup of the day and a drink – I choose ice lemon tea.

Tomato Soup

The soup of the day was tomato soup. It made me think of minestrone without the beans and cheese but still thick and flavourful. Very very good, I’d be coming back just for this.

Pork chop with Sausage & Aglio Olio

The cut of meat was generous though I’ve got to say it was slightly tougher than I would have liked. When paired with the sauce, it tasted good. The sausages were OK – not bursting with flavour but it wasn’t so bad its inedible. As for the pasta, well… it’s just pasta – not too exciting.

My colleagues tried a variety of other dishes.

So the verdict for this place is – a good choice for a very filling lunch. The price is great, the food not too bad and after the meal you can go back to the office and snore your way through the next couple of hours.
